Welcome to YUNG Chinese Medicine - a Chiswick based Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine clinic dedicated to promoting women's health and general wellness.

 

Hi, I am May Yung, Hong Kong trained Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. I have a longstanding passion to promote wellness through natural health medicines. I was principally trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in both Hong Kong and China and received a Masters in Chinese Medicine from The School of Chinese Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I also hold qualifications in Tui Na (Chinese medical massage therapy) and Acupressure & Meridian Massage. Additionally, I was also trained in other complementary therapies such as Holistic Clinical Aromatherapy, Holistic & Therapeutic Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage.

At my Practice, I have a focus to promote women’s health, at physical, emotional, and psychological levels. I treat a wide range of Gynaecological conditions including infertility, irregular periods, menstrual pain, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, menopausal syndrome and also other issues commonly seen in women such as low energy, fatigue, insomnia, stress, nervousness, anxiety, panic attack, low mood, depression, weight gain, hair loss, acnes, headache, migraine, etc. I specially offer targeted preventive treatments for female clients who want to take precautionary maintenance for certain health issues like breast and uterus health, menopause etc., and also provide specific supportive treatments for clients who need timely assistance for some critical life circumstances like going through a tough divorce, grieving for a miscarriage or a loved one, with the aid of acupuncture, herbs, aromatherapy, massages, and dietary and lifestyle guidance. 

 

I also specialise in tackling a broad range of pain and musculoskeletal conditions such as sciatic pain, lower back pain, knee pain, arthritic pain, sprain injuries, Frozen Shoulders, stiff neck, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, etc. I particularly offer my signature massage therapy, combining techniques of Tui Na, Acupressure & Meridian Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage, for pain and stress relief or solely for general relaxation and health maintenance. 

 

I also treat many other medical conditions that are not mentioned here and above all, I specifically dedicate my skills and time to support clients with challenging or chronic conditions such as cancer, arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and post-stroke rehabilitation etc.

ACUPUNCTURE TRAINING IN CHINA

To ensure the quality and standard of my treatments for clients, continuous professional development is the core priority of my Practice.  In my recent clinical training at the Department of TCM of Guangzhou Jing Xi Nan Fang Hospital, I learned under Professor Yong Huang, Director of Department of Acupuncture and Tuina, and Dr Zhen Zhong from the Department of Rehabilitation in Acupuncture. 


During this one-month placement, I have looked more in-depth at a few major new acupuncture techniques including Jin's 3-Needle Technique, Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy, Cheek Acupuncture Therapy,  and Fu's Subcutaneous Needling, and how these techniques were used in a wide range of medical conditions in particular Stroke and Post-Stroke Rehabilitation, Facial Paralysis, Optic Nerve Atrophy, Parkinson's Disease, Depression, and pain conditions. It was truly an invaluable experience to be part of the team and see such a broad spectrum of acupuncture techniques used in treatments.
